SYNOPSIS :

The highly reputed AVM gave us the charter to upgrade the facilities at their 4 campuses in Mumbai. We undertook stage by stage design and implementation during the vacations over 2 years and renovated the pre-primary classrooms, staff rooms and resource rooms. The common play areas, washrooms, passages and computer labs for the primary and secondary classes are also a part of the upgradation. The brief was to create a bright, cheerful and interactive design. We incorporated the curriculum and designed wall graphics for the pre-primary classes. These were printed with high resolution images and special inks and installed with abrasion resistant surfaces. We laid out sports floors in varying bright colours and designs to create patterns and insert hopscotch, numbers and geometric forms laser cut into the floor. The teachers use the wall graphics and floor designs as interactive tools with the children. The furniture was ergonomically designed suited to small children and fabricated out of eco-friendly FRP.

The washrooms for pre-primary children have bold colour themes and abstract forms. Bright corian counters, rounded raised backlit mirrors and curved cubicles are designed to eliminate sharp edges and yet give the washrooms a funky and cheerful look.

The resource room has a DGU sound proof cabin with frosted glass for private counselling apart from regular counselling tables and a “cozy corner” for children with specific issues.

The secondary washrooms have laser cut screens at the entry, geometric pattern colour tiles or 3D tiles with coordinated cubicles.
